Spectrum Communications Reduced Cost Internet

Spectrum Communications has reached out to NWLS and asked us to share the following three programs with our families.  All three seek to aid families that may be struggling by providing cheap Internet access services.  If you know anyone who might be able to take advantage of the program, please reach out to them with the following information.

1: Spectrum Internet Assist:

Charter believes everyone should have access to reliable, high-speed internet.  Spectrum Internet Assist program offers internet at a reduced price to households that qualify.

In order to qualify for Spectrum Internet Assist, a member of the household must be a recipient of one of the following:

  • National School Lunch Program (NSLP), (i.e. the family will need to have a child on a free or reduced lunch)
  • The Community Eligibility Program (CEP) of the NSLP
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI), (for those 65 or older)

2. Spectrum Housing Assist:

Charter through our Spectrum Housing Assist Program partners with Rebuilding Together and the American Red Cross in addition to a number of other agencies in various local communities throughout our footprint,  to ensure more Americans live in safe and healthy homes, with a goal of improving 25,000 homes across the United States by the year 2020.

3. Spectrum Digital Education Grant Program:

The Spectrum Digital Education grant program is designed to support nonprofit organizations that educate community members, specifically families and seniors who have historically been underrepresented, on the benefits of broadband and how to use it to improve their lives.

To be eligible, applying organizations must serve communities located in a Spectrum market and have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
