3rd Annual Art Show and Empty Bowls Project

3rd Annual Art Show

Mrs. Evans and Miss Hilgenberg along with the NW art club are sponsoring the 3rd annual art show March 8th, 9th, and 10th during the spring musical in the small gym. Come out and see all of our hard work from this year on display. While you’re there you can buy one of our Empty Bowls to support the Interfaith Hospitality Network.

3rd Annual Empty Bowls Project sale

For the last few months Mrs. Evans and her students in Explorations in Clay have been hard at work. We have been busy using skills learned in class to build bowls for our second annual Empty Bowls Project fundraiser.

Empty Bowls Project is an initiative started by two art teachers in Michigan in 1990. They noticed a need in their area for food and decided to get their students to help. Students make bowls and sell them, donating the money to local food banks or homeless shelters. Students have accepted the challenge and we have over 100 bowls to sell.

Bowls will be on sale for $5 March 8th, 9th, and 10th during the spring musical and art show. We will be donating the money from the sales to The Rainbow Table located in the Central Community Center on High St (previously Faith United Methodist). Last year we brought in over $450 – We’re hoping to go way over that amount this year so we can help even more people!
