PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Northwestern Jr./Sr. High School Families:
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We hope everyone had a wonderful summer break. Our administration and staff are eager to begin another year with students, parents, grandparents and community members. We hope to work with everyone to make this a great school year.
Our goal is to make the 2025-2026 school year rewarding academically and extracurricularly with all of our students. Our administration, teachers and staff are eager to work with all our students and families. Feel free to approach us with any questions you might have about Northwestern Jr./Sr. High.
In addition to wanting all our students to grow and improve academically, we want to keep our students safe. We are fortunate to continue to have our SRO Deputy William Crump in our building from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. SRO Crump will assist us with our school safety and security.
With the start of the school year we also remind everyone to travel slowly in and around our school buildings and observe the speed limits when students are present and particularly during drop-off and dismissal times throughout the district.
Please join me in welcoming the new employees to Northwestern Jr./Sr. High School:
Hannah Shierman - 7th grade ELA
Nicolle Marchus - 7th grade Math
Kathleen Scannell - 7th grade science
Amberly Henning - 8th grade ELA
Gabe Loxley - 9th grade ELA
Aaliyah Sakos - Algebra I
Danny Elam - IT Education
Joyce Aills - Media Specialist
Buddy Ball - Custodian
Katlyn Jordan - School Psychologist
Jenae Trulock - High School Special Education
Ron Long - Career Navigator
It is also noteworthy to know that the district has adopted a state-wide model policy of keeping all student cell phones in their lockers during academic school day hours. Book bags will also be kept in lockers this year as well. Thanks for everyone’s cooperation.
A major theme we always try to promote is for everyone to BE KIND and PROVIDE HOPE. Northwestern is a great place for students to learn and teachers to teach.
Remember the entire Northwestern Jr./Sr. High School is here to assist you - our students, our parents and community. If we can be of assistance, please feel free to contact our teachers, counselors or administrators. We want to help our students to achieve, grow and overcome obstacles.
Go Warriors!
Sincerely,
Mr. Doug Fries
Principal
