Go Warriors!

Northwestern Local Schools will be remote learning/ virtual tomorrow, February 17th.

Keep an eye on the weather forecast for this week, it does look good. I will try to make the school decisions early so people can plan accordingly. If we need to miss more days this week, they will be virtual days.
Go Warriors!

Northwestern Local Schools are closed tomorrow February 16th.

Northwestern Local Schools are virtual today. Students should use their chrome books to login to their virtual classrooms. Go Warriors!

Go Warriors!

Our Elementary School and ESC Units are cancelled today. No school for our elementary students and ESC unit students. It is a good old fashion calamity day for the elementary school and ESC unit. Jr/ Sr High students should proceed with previously scheduled virtual day.
Go Warriors!

We are on a two our delay. The virtual classes at the Jr/Sr high school can go on as planned. CBC Bowling will be on time. All other bussing is delayed 2hrs.

Due to a COVID exposure involving staff members at the Jr/Sr. High, the Jr/Sr High school will remain with virtual/remote learning from now through February 12th. The first day back for in person learning will be February 16th. This will not impact the elementary school. The ESC unit teachers will be in contact with their classes with details about class.

Northwestern Local Schools are virtual today. Students should use their chrome books to login to their virtual classrooms. My feelings about the roads were right, they are a mess this morning! Have a great virtual day! Go Warriors!

Good Afternoon Northwestern Warriors!
Just an FYI: If the snow continues to fall today and the winds continue to gust through the night, we will have issues with the roads drifting shut tomorrow morning. Possible virtual day tomorrow. We will check the roads in the morning to make sure they are safe to travel.
Go Warriors!

All athletic activities, both practices and games, are canceled today, Monday, February 1, 2021, due to bad road conditions.

The Indian Lake at Northwestern HS boys basketball game scheduled for tonight, Monday, February 1, 2021, has been postponed to Wednesday, February 3, 2021. The JV game will start at 6:00 followed by the Varsity at 7:30. There will not be a Freshman game.
The Northwestern at North Union HS girls basketball game scheduled for tonight, Monday, February 1, 2021, has been cancelled. A makeup date will follow.

Northwestern Local Schools are virtual today. Students should use their chrome books to login to their virtual classrooms. My feelings about the roads were wrong. Have a great virtual day!
Go Warriors!

Currently, the roads are in pretty good shape. However, it is snowing and the temperature has dropped to freezing. We will check the roads in the morning to make sure they are still safe to travel. I have a feeling we will be in-person tomorrow. If not, I will call you in the morning.
Good night Warrior Nation!

Happy Friday! You may have noticed that your students brought home their chrome books today. The forecast for Sunday looks very interesting. If we get the winter storm they are predicting, we may have to take Monday as a virtual day. If we decide to have a virtual day on Monday, I will make that decision Sunday night between 7pm and 8pm. I want to give you as much time as possible to prepare.

Ok... We had something come up at the elementary and we need to change our COVID numbers. We have 4 in isolation and 23 in quarantine at the elementary. We are still doing very well, but we did have to quarantine a few students today.
Go Warriors!

Please watch this week's video update. It covers current COVID cases and Vaccines for educators.

The weekly update will come out tomorrow.

Due to the weather coming in, all athletic activities, including practices and games, are canceled today, Monday, January 25, 2021.

Please watch this week's video update about limiting the spread of COVID-19 and the need for substitute teachers.
https://youtu.be/TFy16APBRjE

The update will come out tomorrow. We are still gathering information for this week's update.
Thanks and Go Warriors!

Our current COVID cases in the school are relatively low. COVID cases in the county are back up to nearly 100 new cases per day. The next two weeks are critical for the school. If we can make it through these two weeks, we hope that we will be able to remain with in-person learning for a sustained period of time. School personnel will probably not receive vaccinations on the 1st due to vaccine shortages in the county.

Please watch the weekly update at https://youtu.be/fuh1WA6HIjo
The update covers in-person learning on the 11th, reporting illnesses to the school nurse, and new quarantine guidance.

To ensure that COVID is not spread through athletics, we are pausing all Jr. High and Sr. High Basketball and Cheerleading activities until January 4th. We hope that pausing these activities now will increase the likelihood of continuing these sports in January.

Please watch the video update to learn more about NW Schools going virtual for Jan. 4th-Jan. 8th, attendance expectations on unplanned virtual days, Board meeting to be held virtually, and no holiday band concert.

Summary of the All Call for today: November 23 &24 will be virtual learning days instead of days off for the students. We are still on track to to return for in-person learning on November 30th. We will continue to watch our COVID numbers to make sure we do not see an increase in COVID cases between now and the 30th.

Her is the link to the 6 minute video update:
https://youtu.be/mjlJfGb7gk4
The video explains that we are moving to virtual learning until we return from thanksgiving break on November 30th. It also explains why we are making this decision.

Monday November will be a virtual day for Northwestern students. Again we have more staff out and cannot find subs.

All students are coming home with Chromebooks today. Jr/Sr High students will be expected to report online 10:00am-2:40pm (please see schedule posted earlier). Elementary students already have assignments in their Google classrooms and will have a video by 9am explaining the expectations for the day. This is a great opportunity to complete any incomplete assignments that you may have!! Please note teachers and students have been preparing for virtual days since the beginning of school utilizing Google classroom to increase their comfort level in the event we should need to go virtual.

Important Message! Northwestern Schools will have a virtual day tomorrow, November 6th. We have almost 20 staff member who will be out and we cannot find the subs we need to cover the classes. Students will receive their Chromebooks today so they can take them home. Students will be expected to be in their virtual classes tomorrow. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we feel that this is what is best for our students. Go Warriors!

We are very excited to announce that NW has partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service that will be replacing paper forms for our athletic department. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! FinalForms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time.
You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.
To get started, go to https://northwesternspringfield-oh.finalforms.com/ or to review the parent-playbook instructions, visit here: https://5il.co/j7gt
We are asking that ALL parents of student athletes use FinalForms and complete their portion ASAP for the 2020-2021 school year.
Thank you and Go Warriors!

Warrior Families,
We recently found out that our milk supplier has filed for chapter 11 and closed its Cincinnati production facility. We received a shipment of milk from our supplier today and we expect another shipment on Monday. We believe that we have enough milk for the rest of the week. We are not confident that we will receive our milk delivery on Monday and are working on a backup plan. To ensure that every student has something to drink with their meal, we will have water on hand as a backup. If you would like your child to have something other than water, please feel free to send something with them. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to resolve the milk issue.
Have a great day and Go Warriors!

On November 13-15, 2019, twenty students from the Springfield-Clark CTC attended the SkillsUSA State Fall Leadership Conference at the Columbus Convention in Columbus, Ohio. While at the conference over 1200 student leaders from Ohio attended leadership-training sessions, learned how to run a school chapter and were privileged to hear from a motivation speaker. On Friday morning, the six regions in Ohio had their regional elections. The Springfield-Clark CTC being a part of the Southwest region had four students who qualified to run for regional office. Our four students ran against twenty-seven students from sixteen different career technical schools. We are happy to say that three of our students were elected into office taking three of the seven offices available at the Southwest regional level. They will serve the Southwest Region of Ohio for the 2019/2020 school year. The new officers will be attending a weeklong training on January 19-24, 2020 in Leesburg Va. and Washington DC, which will include a visit to our nation’s capital. Their specific offices will be assigned during their training in Washington DC. The following students were elected.

Northwestern football players have been seen reading in our first grade classrooms this year. Pictured is senior Korbin Spencer doing just that. Coach Brian Stevens had this to say about what they are doing.
"As a football program we are trying to show our players the positive impact that we can have on others around us. We want our players to realize that "little eyes are always watching." We want our players to be role models for the younger students and to understand they have a responsibility to lead and demonstrate positive behaviors for our future students and players." Thank you to the coaches and players who are stepping outside of the box to be GREAT! #GoWarriors

STEM Grades 4, 5, and 6 classes have been working on team building challenges in order to establish a positive culture that fosters the norms that students shared for our STEM classroom. The five norms that we think anyone who enters our classroom should notice and feel are SAFE, INNOVATION, COOPERATION, THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX, and FUN! We've built pipecleaner towers, index card towers, jellybean/toothpick towers, spaghetti/marshmallow towers, and the longest paper chains! Experiences in this room are what you make of them! The possibilities are endless! -Mrs. Swensen

These backpacks are complete with a first aid kit, sanitizer and Lysol spray, dry erase boards and markers, candy and small toys. The buckets will contain trash bags, toilet paper, and a shower curtain for emergency restrooms. THANK YOU NW PTO! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Look for bus routes to be posted online early next week.

This morning we moved the Athletics web pages from the District Site to the JH/HS site. It made more sense to have them located there. Thank you for your patience while we build out the new sites

Welcome to our new Website!
