Board Members

Andy Gundolf


Andy is a third generation graduate of Northewestern Local Schools. He graduated in 1994 and continued his education at Wittenberg University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Management before continuing to get his MBA from Keller School of Management in 2012.

Community involvement is important to Andy, who has served on the Pike Township Zoning Board as well as the Springfield Christian Youth Ministries Board. He has been a youth leader at his church, a church volunteer, a 4-H leader and mentor, as well as a coach for youth soccer and basketball.

Andy's wife, Melissa is also a Northwestern graduate and they currently have three children who attend Northwestern and are actively involved in several of our atheletic programs. Faith is a sophomore, Grace is in the eighth grade and Isaac is in the fourth grade.

Andy has resided in the Northwestern district for 36 years and currently is employed by Johnson and Johnson. He brings a great deal of loyalty and experience to our board.

Andy's current term on the Board will expire in December 2021.

Kevin Macy


Kevin Macy is a native of Phoenix, Arizona, and moved here to Springfield and the Northwestern district in 2006. He is a 1997 graduate of Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, and a 2003 graduate of Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. He completed his family practice residency at John C. Lincoln Hospitals in Phoenix in 2006, then moved here to join the practice of Springfield Center for Family Medicine, where his brother also works as a physician.

Kevin and his wife Rebecca have been married for over 20 years, and have four children all attending Northwestern schools: Luke, 10th grade, Rachel, 7th grade, Kyle, 5th grade, and Lauren, 2nd grade. The children enjoy sports, band, and clubs at the school while putting academics and learning first. Rebecca is the varsity volleyball coach at Northwestern. The entire family is committed to the Northwestern community and the school and to seeing it excel in all aspects from academics to athletics and more.

Kevin has been involved in the community through serving on committees at our local hospitals, teaching middle schoolers at his church, coaching youth sports, and other volunteering. He looks forward to the challenge of the school board and the change of pace from his previous committees. His main priority is seeing Northwestern provide a high quality education and safe environment for all children for years to come.

Leigh Ann Taylor


Dr. Leigh Ann Taylor is a 1996 graduate of Greenon High School. She then completed her undergraduate education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Miami University. She went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. In 2003 she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Leigh worked as an associate doctor at Living Well Spine Center for 6 years until she opened her own practice, Taylor Family Wellness Chiropractic, in Huber Heights in 2009.

Dr. Leigh is active in the Ohio State Chiropractic Association. She held a position on the Ethics Committee for the Ohio State Chiropractic Association for 8 years. She is also a regular attender at First Christian Church in Springfield and volunteers at elementary for the Northwestern PTO.

Dr. Leigh’s husband, Jeremy, is a 1997 graduate from Northwestern High School. They have 2 children, Alexis (freshman) and Andrew (5th grade) who are active in the athletic programs at Northwestern.

Dr. Leigh is looking forward to serving the Northwestern community in her new position on the school board.

Russ Steele


Russ Steele is a 1968 graduate from Northwestern Local Schools. Russ earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1972 from Bethel College with a Major in Secondary Education in Science & Mathematics, a Master of Education in 1983 from Wright State University with a Major in Secondary Principalship & Curriculum Supervision and a Post Graduate with 30 Semester Hours from the University of Dayton.

Russ and his wife Nadine married in 1972, they have two sons Ryan married to Kayleen and Jeremy married to Megan. Russ and Nadine are proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.

Russ has been serving on the Northwestern Board of Education since 2008. Russ has held various positions at Newson Missionary Church in St. Paris, Ohio from 1972-present. He is the owner of Russ Steele Construction and currently is a Farm Owner/Operator of 50% of 120 acres. Russ is a retired teacher from both Tecumseh Local Schools and the Springfield Clark Career Technology Center.

Russ Steele’s current term on the Board will expire in December 2019.
