TITLE I RESOURCES

Description: Title I, Part A funds are distributed to school districts based on a poverty data funding formula. School districts determine which eligible schools are to participate based on federal requirements and local decisions. Targeted assistance buildings must direct services to specific students based on academic need. Schoolwide buildings may use the funds for school-wide activities intended to improve outcomes across the building. The Northwestern Elementary School receives Title I, Part A funds as a school-wide program.

PARENTS RIGHT TO KNOW

Under the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), all school districts are required to notify parents with children in Title I Schools that they may request information regarding the professional qualifications of each student’s classroom teachers. If you need more information, please contact Sharon Saunders at 964-1318.
