The Northwestern boys bowling team placed 5th today at the OHSAA Sectional Bowling Tournament, qualifying them for the District Tournament being held this Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Beaver-Vu-Bowl in Beavercreek starting at 9:45am.

Our HS wrestlers will be in action this Saturday, February 22, 2020, competing in the CBC Wrestling Championships starting at 10:00 at Urbana HS.

The boys basketball team will be playing Kettering Alter in the first round of the OHSAA Southwest District Tournament this Friday, February 21, 2020, starting at 6:30 at Springfield HS.
Tickets, both adult and student, at the door are $7.00...pre-sale tickets are available for $6.oo and Northwestern keeps 50% of all pre-sale,
If you would like to purchase pre-sale tickets, they will be available in the HS front office from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM today, Thursday, and Friday. If you are not in the HS building, just email me and I will get them to you by Friday afternoon
Congratulations to Emma Randall and Drew Blazer for being recognized at the New Carlisle Rotary meeting this month! Drew was awarded Citizen of the Month, and Emma was awarded Student of the Month.
Important Levy Information:
This is not a new tax. The Substitute Operating Levy was first approved by our community in 2010, and supported by voters again in 2016.
Approving this 5-Year Substitute Levy in 2020 will preserve the Rollback and Homestead Exemptions for our voters.

This Friday, January 24th, FCCLA will be hosting their annual chili cook-off during the boys varsity basketball game. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to The Ronald McDonald House. Samples will be $1 and bowls will be $3. Come Hungry!

Northwestern's National Honor Society, led by advisor Emily Dixon-Kays, headed to the Springfield Soup Kitchen to volunteer and learn the value of giving of one's time to help others.
The Power of the Pen district tournament was Jan. 11 at GISA. Northwestern had two 7th grade participants (Adelyn Mullins and Dominique Rogers) and three 8th grade participants (Tabitha Fields, Haley Renegar and Gabby Sebring).
Gabby Sebring placed 1st for 8th grade in the tournament!
Students selected to participate in the regional tournament in March will be announced in two weeks.
